Wedding Pics!!!!!!!!

Patty took some pretty unbelievably (well believably) amazing pictures at our wedding.  I am still trying to find the time to upload a TON of them so more friends and family can see them.. I WILL get to it!!!! 

Here are a few that I have on my computer!!  I can't choose a favorite and I want these pictures in my house!! I must stop procrastinating and print some.

 

Married Life

Wow! We have been married for about a month and a half and it has FLOWN by.  I can't believe we have been back from our honeymoon for so long, Thanksgiving is over, it's time to Christmas shop, my Louis Vuitton speedy 30 wedding present came in, we bought a 54 inch plasma and a new couch to view it from, there are 17 days until winter break, Cam (our puppy) has a cuzister (cousin-sister)- Kell got a puppy!! and most importantly Brett is starting a new job!!!!! 

He will be doing consulting for a small firm and will be traveling to client sites many days but, when he doesn't have to be on site he will be able to have his office out of our house!! YAY Brett!!

We have many great things to look forward to... I am so excited to see what life has in store for us.

Our BIG Day!

Rehearsal Dinner

10.more.days.

Well we officially have 10 more days until the big day.  I felt at this point I would be writing to say everything is done! We are ready to go! We are feeling GREAT! ......... um no.



I am home sick. 

Not just with any sickness to get me out of "work"....meaning I just wanted to stay home and pack early.. this sickness has me on antibiotics (thanks to the 3 hour trip to urgent care saturday.. with a really good sport- kell- who made it clear to all nurses and doctors we were not leaving until they gave me something), coughing, sneezing, throat hurting, sinus clogged, jaw hurting, wanting to stay under the covers and not come out sickness. 

With this on my plate I am pushing through. There is NO more time to be sick after today. It will be gone by tomorrow.  

There are literally about 198340982304 things on our wedding to-do list, let alone my own to-do list of 2234092834 things.. including 6 days worth of lesson plans, interims and planning for conferences.

All more than worth it though- let me make that perfectly clear. I just can't believe that this time, the week after next, I will be married to the man of my dreams, sipping delicious cocktails on the beach- or in my private ocean front pool- in the Dominican Republic. Somehow that makes the hell of this week and next; worth it. :)

My Bridal Shower

Kell, Mom, Gram and Mrs. Cz took charge and threw me a fabulous bridal shower- with a little bit of help from my BMs. :) Tam and Carrie even drove in from out of town!! I am so lucky to have such great friends. 

I had so much fun and B and I got soooo many presents.  I couldn't believe how incredibly generous everyone was. We are so very lucky to have such great people in our lives to help us celebrate this MAJOR life event!!!

Currituck Courthouse!

Brett and I went to the courthouse on Monday and got our Marriage license! It was a lot easier than I thought.  All we did was fill out a single sheet of paper application form and then the woman looked at our drivers licenses for half a second. After that was done, she typed our answers into the computer and gave us two printed copies.  We then swore over the bible that all of our information was correct. Next, the woman, Brett and I took turns signing the papers.  Now just our witnesses and Brad Bradshaw need to sign them after our ceremony and mail them back to the Registrar of Deeds! It's getting close y'all!

60 Days and Counting! AH!

Welp, there are officially 60 days until the BIG day! Today means a few things:

1. B and I can officially get our marriage license!!!
2. OMG we have 2 MONTHS TO GO!!!!!! 


RSVPs have started coming back.  Every day my mom will call and tell me the update- who said yes, who said no, who is coming to the wedding and brunch, who is not coming to brunch etc.  I am starting to feel the crunch.  I feel like I have no time left!! I know I will get everything done, it is just a matter of prioritizing and taking things one step at a time.  

To Do List:

1. Making the table numbers (really excited for this task! creativity comes into play)


2. Place cards

3. Program for the ceremony

4. Tell the band what songs I hate and will not be played ;) 
(aka electric slide & jump around)

5. make the slide show for the rehearsal dinner

6. make our guest book (so excited for this idea and for everyone to see!)


7. Final cake flavor decisions


8. & 1000 other things that I can't think of right now

Brett is coming to the beach this weekend.  We get to go and apply for our marriage license!!! How exciting!!! EEK! We are also going to meet with the man who will me marrying us! He just so happened, very luckily, to fall into our hands.  A friend from work got married in the OBX a few years ago and Brad Married her and her husband.  She/I could not find his contact information for the life of us! I did not know he was from Kitty Hawk Methodist Church- and it just so happens that he is a great friend of my wedding coordinator and her husband.  Connections make the world a better place. :)

I have also started to look for poems to be read at the wedding... I found one that I LOVE but still need 2 more that I'm in LOVE with.  

All in all, things are progressing nicely.

A great friend of mine from college just got engaged this past weekend!! Bobby popped the question at one of their favorite Wilmington dock spots. I already can't wait for this wedding!! I wish all the best to this happily engaged couple! Woot!

M and her girls came to visit!!! Kaylee Harper and Alexandra Jane were so good! They are such happy babies and smile and talk all the time!! Morgan showed me how to feed a little human and I got to burp Alex. :) She let out 2 good ones! haha! Both girls are adorable. Alexandra fell asleep after her bottle and took a great nap while M and I chatted. Kaylee fell asleep in my arms. I just love them!!!!

Some really great friends and I went to Miami for my Bachelorette weekend! 

Highlights:
-stayed at the Eden Roc
-went to the beach
-tanned at the pool
-frequented the bar for HH at our hotel
-ate delish meals at fabulous restaurants- Scarpetta, Gia, Opa Taverna, Big Pink and of course the Cabana Beach Club
-danced on tables
-went to drag brunch
-went to "da club" - LIV
-went to Dash- but did not see the Kardashians.. sad story
-shopped on Lincoln & Collins  


It was so so much fun. I loved every minute of it! Thank you Kell for planning such a great trip!! Thanks girls for coming!

Well, summer has started!!! It has been crazy busy. 

Some exciting things have been happening.

Brett passed all CPA tests. He will officially be CPA'd in just a short time!! Go Brett!

I am in the outer banks doing some wedding planning. The big day is exactly 3 short months from tomorrow! I CAN'T believe it. 

Wedding update:
I had my first dress fitting. obsessed.
I found THE shoes. obsessed. again.
We have a florist. 
We have a band. 
We have ceremony music- a violinist & guitarist. amazing. 
We have votives (all 288 of them) for the tables.
We have gorgeous invitations almost ready to be sent out.
Brett has a wedding band. I have a wedding band. :)

75% and Counting!

BRETT PASSED AUDIT!!!!!!!

He is 3/4 of the way done with these monster CPA exams. I am so very proud of him for working so hard!!! He has been a studying machine.. and it sure payed off!! YAY BRETTERS MARIE!

Brett took the 4th (and final) exam yesterday... those results won't be in for probably over a month but we will be anxiously awaiting them in the Carusi household..

This weekend we are taking the dog and going to my beach house in OBX.  It will be a great way to relax and spend some time together. I feel like I have barely seen my fiance! (all for good reason though!)

Mrs. Photographer...I Think We're Ready for our Close Up!!!

Brett and I have found THE ONE wedding photographer we have been dreaming about!!!!! Her name is Patricia Suzanne and she is based out of Raleigh.  She comes to us very highly recommended from friends of ours, Lauren and Wyatt Jenkins, who used Patty as their photographer for their wedding.  Let me tell you, Lauren and Wyatt's pictures are phenomenal!!! Every time I look at Patty's blog and website, I drool over how gorgeous these brides look in every single one of their wedding day pictures. I feel as if I was at each and every wedding due to the amazing job Patty does in capturing the unforgettable moments.  I am confident that someone will be saying all of these things about our day because I know Patty's pictures are going to tell our great love story.

Joanne's the Greatest!

This past weekend my mom threw B and I an engagement party for in-town friends!! It was so much fun!! Brett proposed 1 year ago, (May 2) so she thought it would be the perfect time to celebrate before the fast approaching wedding. (157 days to go!!!)

Gram Jo and Poppy came down from NJ for the party.. and will soon be close all the time.. that is another post. :)

So many of our friends came out to celebrate. I wish I took pictures, but I only have ones from before the guests arrived. sad.  Kell and Ash sis were getting ready together so we had plenty of time to take great pics. Thank you to everyone who came!! Brett and I loved every minute of it and are so fortunate to have such loving and wonderful friends.

Lindsey came to visit and so did Carrie.  It was so great to reunite and reminisce about life at ECU. Oh (sigh) how I still think we will all be going back to school from this "break" we're on.
